Grenadines Luxury Yacht Charters

One of the great cruising grounds in the Caribbean is situated between St. Vincent and Grenada, otherwise known as St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  The weather is perfect year round with constant trade winds and rich hues of blue and green water.  Here you will find peaceful anchorages, teaming coral reefs and white sand beaches, all waiting to be explored.  These scarcely populated islands are an international playground for yachtsmen and other visitors.  From the American or European mainland, it takes almost a day of traveling to reach, which protects them from over-crowding.

The Grenadines include some 33 islands, the largest [and the most northern] of which is Bequia.  Bequians treat visiting yachtsmen well, as they come from a long line of seafarers.  Since all commodities have to be shipped in, its people have learned to use the resources of the surrounding land and sea.  Bequia still retains its proud maritime heritage, with many of the original descendants still building boats today in the same manner, passed down from generation to generation.

Mystique, 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, is privately owned and is one of the most exclusive islands; not to mention, home to the world famous Basil’s Bar.  All beaches are public, so don’t be shy about stepping ashore; you never who you might spy while strolling the beaches past the grand villas owned by celebrities.

Union Island, located midway between St. Vincent and Grenada, is a bustling center for visiting yachtsmen with many things to offer such as hiking, swimming or beach-combing.  Snorkelers will find good conditions on Lagoon Reef, which protects much of the southern side of the island.

A cluster of uninhabited islands, the Tobago Cays, are protected by a horseshoe reef and are a national marine park of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  These islands offer shallow water perfect for viewing the abundant sea life.  In season, the local vendors will row out to your yacht to offer anything from ice, bread, seafood or locally made jewelry.  One of the islands, Petite Tabac, you will know as the island Jack Sparrow was marooned on in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.”

Grenadines’ luxury yacht charters provide the perfect venue for soaking up the Caribbean sunshine and culture. Perfect weather year round, almost constant Trade Winds, gorgeous water colors, lush islands, peaceful anchorages, plentiful coral reefs, soft white sand on the beaches – all spell out the conditions for a yachting paradise.
