BLUE LEOPARD was launched in August 1963 as a yacht that pushed the boundaries of speed and stability while retaining grace and beauty. She was compared to the legendary J - Class yachts, since under sail she acheived 10 knots and more to windward, and 15 knots off the wind. Her designer, Jack Laurent Giles was given a brief to draw a yacht that would motor as fast as she could sail. She was therefore fitted with 2 Rolls Royce diesels giving her a cruising speed under power of 10 knots, and a motor sailing speed of 15 knots off the wind. Refitted in 1991 and upgraded in 2001, she has acres of deck space, and comfortable, updated accommodation for 6 guests.
