Captain: Eric Yeager
With a family history dating back to San Martin the “Army of the Andes” of Chile, Captain Eric Patricio Yeager brings generations of command and seamanship aboard to M/Y Shogun.

Coming from a dual cultured household in western United States and Chile, English and Spanish were equally prevalent and influential. His personal career began from marine mechanics which later manifested itself in a position as first mate on a 72ft, 1964 classic racing yawl at the age of 18. After spending a little over one year surfing and diving along the coast of Chile from Puerto Montt to Arica, Eric took his desire for adventure and found himself onboard a commercial albacore fishing operation off the coast of California and Oregon. Salted and experienced, he worked his way onto several different prestigious, privately owned fishing and tournament yachts. From calving glaciers in Tracy Arm to marlin fishing in Zihuatanejo, a variety of experience is the answer to a successful charter in Alaska, Mexico, Costa Rica, or wherever you board the M/Y Shogun.

A positive attitude, relentless work ethic, and fine tuned skills have been principal keys to unlocking a successful career aboard mega yachts for Eric. Bringing to the table years of advanced tank diving, spear fishing, clam digging and local knowledge, Captain Eric Patricio Yeager and his crew on the M/Y Shogun will exceed your expectations and help make your journey aboard an unforgettable experience.

First Mate: Michael Finnegan
Mike grew up in New England living and working on the coast of Maine. His experience on the water began at an early age commercial fishing for lobster and Blue Fin Tuna in the gulf of Maine. Since then, Mike has worked on a diverse selection of vessels including privately owned yachts, charter fishing boats, and commercial vessels. Mike’s great passion for fishing has led him to fish both recreationally and professionally along much of the East Coast from Nova Scotia to the Bahamas targeting a variety of different species. While working in the commercial field Mike spent much of his time on high-speed supply boats servicing the deep water offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Mike recently graduated from Maine Maritime Academy with a degree in vessel operations. In the rare occasion that Mike hits the mainland he enjoys biking, working on boats and is an avid downhill skier.
Mike’s broad maritime experience coupled with his strong work ethic and positive attitude will ensure your voyage aboard the M/Y Shogun is an exciting and memorable adventure.

Chef: TBA

Stewardess: Kelly Nedved
Kelly dove into her life on the water in the year 2000 in San Diego, CA. Since then, she has worked for a variety of boats ranging from classic sailing yachts and former America's cup racing boats to fishing vessels and private mega yachts. On a variety of boats, Kelly has acted as deckhand, hostess, bartender, stewardess, chief stewardess, and first mate. As a multi-tasker she is glad to be of service no matter what her position or title. She knows the most important job on a vessel is to provide a safe and amazing experience for her guests. Kelly loves being on the water. To her there is no more stunning vision than a live iceberg, but as for her hobbies you will find her surfing, wakeboarding, fishing, snorkeling, or scuba diving, preferably in the warmer climates. Over the past years, Kelly has worked hard and diligently and learned from her travels ranging from Alaska to the mid-mainland of Mexico, what it takes to run an outstanding charter operation. She hopes that you'll also come to the M/Y Shogun to indulge in our crew services and savor life on the water. You will love it as much as she does.

Stewardess: Val Maughmer
Growing up landlocked in the Midwest, Val was not accustomed to life on the water by any means. With yearly family vacations to the ocean, her longing for this lifestyle began at an early age. Val attended Indiana University and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and headed west to San Diego. While working as a receptionist at a boatyard it only seemed natural to create her own concierge role helping yachts transiting the west coast and served on the yacht selection committee for Yachtfest.

Living in San Diego she was drawn to any hobby that involved water, and sailing was top on her list. After taking lessons she started crewing on board J105 and J120’s as bowmen and became a member of San Diego Yacht Club. Participating in local club races as well as offshore races including Newport to Ensenada her love of the water intensified.

While enjoying the Southern California climate and lifestyle, Val still longed for more adventure. After a trip to Europe she realized upon return that she had caught the travel bug indefinitely. With her love of the water at an all time high and her need to travel, she found working aboard M/Y Shogun as an excellent fit. Val has over eight years of guest relations experience including working at one of San Diego’s most prestigious fine dining restaurants.

She is keen to cultivate her new hobbies on the water while on board including fishing and surfing. Some of her “land base” interests include writing, cooking, painting and acoustic music. Val is eager to welcome you on board M/Y Shogun with her warm hospitality and smile.

Deckhand: Nick Davis
Nick Davis, a third generation native of San Diego, California, grew up with the ocean in his blood. An avid surfer and all around waterman Nick spent most of his youth in, on, and around the Pacific Ocean.

With maritime experience ranging from the top of North America to Central America, Nick's love for travel and excitement have molded him as a person. After graduating from San Diego State University he begun to pursue his yachting career full time. Nick has spent months in the Pacific in Costa Rica and Mexico. His appreciation for new adventures drives him to explore local customs and cultures further.

In his free time Nick enjoys music, surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, basketball, football, golf, beach volleyball, taking pictures and traveling.

Smiles, positive vibrations, and a solid foundation of hard work are what you can expect from Nick Davis ensuring your time aboard the M/Y Shogun will be excellent.

Please note: Crew is rotational per season and travel grounds.
